GST, What rumblings are you hearing in Washington? If the mainland Chinese can be this stupid all on their own, why can't you see the Taiwanese being equally obstinate? Not everything in the world is our fault. My own opinion is that the Taiwanese should develop their own detterent. Its apparent from your post and by many on the left that Taiwan (the only Chinese Democracy) will be abandoned by any new administration here. The west (Europe, Japan and any future US Govt) will sacrifice their values and democratic ideals for a crack at the mainlands business. John
