my local chinese takeout calls it General Tso. Yes quite spicy. A chinese/taiwanese friend of mine who recently visited me, says "Kung Pao" in the US is a piece of crap - nothing like what it is in China.

Semi OT, re: spicy foods, and promoting intercultural discourse via eating each other's foods. I just started following chowhound.com, which has local boards. Last night we ate at the China Star, in Fair City Mall, from the traditional menu. Unbelievably good. The boys ate from the American style menu, they said it was pretty good. I can't find my notes, all I can tell you is that there were things like duck feet and duck tongues we didn't order, and the stuff we did order tasted out of this world. I had fried dumplings, steamed dumplings, and baby won-ton in chili oil broth, also dan dan noodles which made my mouth go numb. Szechuan cooking has a level of hot called "numbing," so hot it shuts down your taste buds. But Chris had some beef with peppers that was so hot that the cooks came out from the back to watch him eat it!!! He said it was good! The waiter said "waa!"

There are chowhound boards all over the country:

And a message board for Muslims who eat halal, to find halal restaurants and grocery stores all over the world. My favorite local Kebab Palace gets 5 stars, but the Lebanese Taverna, which I guess is Christian, isn't on there:
