Carl, thanks very much for your well reasoned and articulate post

While agreeing with almost everything you posted the one defense I'll make is that over the course of 7 years (find a portfolio on the net that has been done honestly and consistently for that long) and despite some huge losses (7 figures) that a few previous but long gone traders took in the portfolio) I think the long term results are positive and stand up well against most measurements. (how is that for a run on sentence?)

But no question that it could have done much better given better money management.

Fine that posting trades does not make sense for you but with your thought process I for one would sure like you to post a few stock specific ideas from time to time.

PS

GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carl,

Thanks very much for your well thought out comments. I don't have enough energy to respond in detail tonight, but wanted you to know that I sincerely appreciate your feedback, and would like to suggest that we use some of what you wrote to improve the portfolio next year. I also agree with Ron that you have a very sound thought process. Please post some stock ideas if you so desire.

I started a short position in DIA today. Plan to add to about 104 with a mental stop at about 105. I don't think that the DJIA will be able to get through this congestion area on the first attempt. The market is way overbought short term, and some Elliot Wave theorists are calling for a top near here with a very nasty sell-off. Any thoughts from anyone?

Thanks,

Dan
