Like most of the country, he got pissed at what was happening, not because someone told him to run. His brother was killed in Vietnam, that's what galvanized his position on useless wars.

He was "lucky" only in that all the other candidates are spineless.

The biggest mistake pundits on both sides of the isle make is characterizing Dean as "left", which is the label Rove wants to make for anyone opposing Bush's suicidal policies. That's not working, due to the simple logic of disasters perpetrated by Bush "right-wingers" in the economy, domestic agendas, and foreign attacks. There are many in the GOP who are horrified, and have no where else to turn, as well as most of the Dems, who will support Dean if he gets nominated.

This time, there will be major protests to the current mess, around about October when the economy is still stumbling and job growth anemic. All that's needed is another bit of "dirty bomb" terrorism to send American voters to the bunkers, where they'll have to make a decision -- "who do I trust?"
