Polar Ice Cap Predicted to Melt within 10 Years Ray, this is going to be fascinating! I remember as a child learning about geological epochs like the Eocene, Pliocene, Holocene, etc. It was quite a challenge to comprehend the unfathomable eons of time for biological evolution and the deposit of geologic formations. Never dreamed I'd see a new epoch in my lifetime, but I now seriously think we're on the boundary of a new one. We are now in the Holocene Epoch (of the Quaternary Period of the Cenozoic Era). Got any ideas on a name for the next one? How about the Thermocene Epoch?
