I don't believe we can sit back and let Mugabe brutalize his people. He withdrew from the Commonwealth and I'm sure the rest of the Commonwealth nations will do "sanctions" as he laughs at them.

If we are truly going to have an effective UN, this is clearly an opportunity. The likely failure to act leads to arguments for unilateral action.

It's time for people to look for positive actions from the UN or an effective replacement organization, rather than just sitting back and saying what shouldn't be done.

For those who would say, what about "pretty bad" or "not so good" people, it's clear that irrespective of our political leanings, we both agree that Mugabe needs to be taken out or pressured into leaving. Hitler clearly needed to be eliminated. Ditto for Musolini, Charles Taylor, Duvalier, Stalin and, yes, Saddam.

Inaction and appeasement in the face of suffering is not the answer.

It was not worth the cost to do what we did in Iraq- even if we do end up doing good, and I don't think that's certain yet.

When the US contemplates the kind of investment we are making now, it should be for something pretty darn certain- not for some invasion founded on "well they might have had..." and "they COULD have been a threat...".

This is such a foolish war. Foolish foolish foolish.
