AB- Convergence now means convergence into what used to a mobile telephone more recently referred to as a handset. The convergence wwas first with PDA then sitll camera and finally video camera.

Samsung is one of the leading manufacturers of 1x in all its forms and so the strategy is now becoming clear even to analysts.

Who needs 4 Gig of memory? A video camera which is also a handest and everything else as well ie phone and pda.

This is no surprise to any of us who have followed QCOM and SNDK together for years.

I am sure it is no surprise to Eli and it is certanly o surprise to Dr Jacobs. Eli is spending over $50m pa on R&D and hopefully some of it will be produce patents.

But there are competitors for Samsung....the Chinese handest manufacturers. They also make 1x handests and they don't own their own flash manufacturing.....there is also MOT.

If that were not enough there is a current licnese agreement between Samsung and SNDK the deatils of which are not public.

So the game still has a lot to play for especially because of these huge growth levels.

Best,

L

AB - 5th day of the attack on SNDK and the battle is still rages on. Clearer every day that this is a concerted attack and my guess by some hedge funds. SNDK has become a major short target thats what my guess all these daily huge volumes are about.

Best,

L

I was always under the impression that Ford became the dominant low cost provider of automobiles due to their "assembly line" techniques and their mantra, "We'll sell you a car of any color, as long as it's black"

I think Intel has been somewhat unsuccessful in combining a microprocessor with memory

Since, I believe, the 486, Intel has incorporated "memory" within the microprocessors. The Pentium Pro was the first processor that had cache within the package, but not on the chip. Intel's Xeon processors have quite a bit of memory within. I would hardly call it "unsuccessful"
