Well, we still have the issue of the undervalued Yuan which, considering our trade deficit with China, should be a problem we can negotiate and solve. Not with this crew at the helm, but with another team the Yuan can be revalued. So the manufacturers who are on their knees, if they can just hang on until the elections.

Michael Dell said that he feels that in a few years the offshoring of US IT operations to india will be perceived as a mistake. Dell has moved some ops back in house from india too. I am not sure, except that the fallout in US salaries has made the indian equation a lot less obvious. As a manager I know it is hard to hit the mark with a complex product with an offshore team. So there is hope for some jobs to come back.

Ohio is a mess, one of my companies has ops there. I think Ohio is very anti-Bush. Moveon.org thinks it is a swing state, hard to believe. Way too much job loss and salary erosion. What about MO? Is that a labor state or what is there?
