THE NEW YORK TIMES BOARD OF STUPES

The editorial board at the New York Times is a bizarre pastiche. William Safire and David Brooks are two of the most clever dissemblers in America today. Personable, affable, avuncular in Safire's case. The two of them are among the most ruthless and sophisticated con artists in America. No more disingenuous pairing has ever disgraced the Times editorial board.

I have found that on issue after issue after issue, the two of them disregard reality and decency for the sake of an ideological purity that protects their pompous place in society. Their deceits and conceits are replete and riven with hypocrisy, hype and hubris.
