Trading always has a place, Bert (I know you know this). In a long sector bull, I think the best strategy is to trade around a fairly large core position, instead of trading totally in and out of a position. That way you never get completely locked out if your timing is a little off. It's a nasty feeling to be out of a sector, knowing it's going higher, and being unable to get in because one missed a reentry point. Corrections in gold (and in gassers) tend to be sharp and pretty brutal, I think that's common to most natural resource or commodity-based sectors.
