At 81, good old Ben had Alzheimer's. As people get older and closer to death, they seem to want to believe in an afterlife. There is no afterlife. Saying there is is a copout. Yeah right, things will be better once you're dead. I say, get rid of all religion, it's caused nothing but problems for thousands of years. Crusades, Inquisition, Holocaust, etc. And how Jihad. Who needs it. If religion disappeared tomorrow, what do you think would happen? We'd all be better off, knowing that we have to make things better ourselves. No Judgement Day, no savior, nada. Praying ain't gonna cut it. Praying isn't even aerobic.

I NEVER said ALL were Christian. I have maintained the the MAJORITY were.

You can not prove that statement. But even if you could, it does not matter. The founders provided for separation of church and state. If they were Christians, then they were very wise Christians.

Many people came to America for religious freedom. The state run Church of England had alienated many. Many came to America seeking freedom to worship.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That says it all. I will not be happy with your religious tyranny in my government, nor you with mine.

The constitution is clear. Separation of church and state is vital to our democracy. It's as vital as it is our right to worship as we choose.
