Well then i guess the Jews are atheists too. From religioustolerance.org (snip)

This leftist source is already proven to be unreliable. Leftists are liars, Steven.

Well the Pope concedes the validity of evolution, so you might as well argue that the state promotes Catholicism instead of atheism.

And now to my sadness you, for the first time I have seen it, have also fallen into leftist dishonesty. (Are there any plainly honest leftists on earth? I know not even one.) Evolution is not a Catholic doctrine, despite the Pope's vague statement concerning it. Moreover, your point is quite ridiculously irrelevant to the point at hand, to wit, even were evolution a Catholic doctrine, the government ought not be in the business of teaching religion.

The world went though this once already with Copernicus, Galileo, the Pope and whether or not the Earth revolved around the sun.

And this has nothing to do with whether the American government should be in the business of forcing people to fund religion, whether atheism or the truth. Families ought to be free to teach their children without being forced to pay for your worldview.

Like life on Earth, religion evolves.

But the truth always remains the same...

<Like life on Earth, religion evolves.>

I live among Mormons now, a particularly idiotic religion, founded by a convicted con man. One apostic Mormon said,"To be a Mormon, one not only has to have faith, but abandon all sense and reason." Mormonism has disavowed a lot of it's tenets to survive, as has Christianity.
I think the only difference between Christianity and Mormonism is that Christianity has the advantage of centuries of obscufication in it's favor. I think Christ would weep at contemporary Christianity, even though I believe him self-deluded.
Typically, Mormons are pro-Bush.
