I just watch Foud Ojami(sp) on CBS. He said the personal aspect of the Arab society was going to make this a great event for us. The fact that we "got em" is an enormous boost for us in the Middle East.

Going to drive "Time" and "Newsweek" nuts. They have to replate.

think the analysts are wrong on this. Psychology is enormously important in the Iraqi resistance movement. Saddam's capture will destroy it

I completely agree. Many conflicts end when the political leader of one side is eliminated but not necessarily immediately.

Psychology and support are critical for guerrilla movements. Both are crumbling...nevertheless I also agree with those who expect more attacks.

I believe the change will come when Iraqui citizens continue with and have increasingly larger demonstrations against their oppressors.

Fingering Saddam's location is a very big deal. Every terrorist in the country has to worry now. But the promise of 72 virgins will continue to lure many to their death.

The fight ain't over in Iraq and when it is we have N Korea, Syria, Iran and Africa to deal with.

Saddam’s capture may not end unrest
"I think the analysts are wrong on this."

I agree Kyrosi. If i were a baathist, i would be open to a deal. Much like the winter baseball meetings in New Orleans. Give us the foreigners and terrorist and you get a pardon and some cash. Watch for some big decisive firefights with those types in the next few days. It may be easy for the terrorists/foreigners to get into iraq--it may not be so easy to get out in any way other than feet first. Mike

Hello KyrosL,
I agree with you. The focus in Iraq now will be on the transfer of power since 'and the cat came back' is no longer an issue... Once the euphoria ends will there not be increased pressure now to get out of Dodge both domestically and from within Iraq ?
