8:59AM Berean Capital provides 2004 Capex Picture : Berean Capital believes worldwide capital spending for 2004 will be up 25-30% after being up almost 8% in 2003. The firm expects order bookings to grow 20-25% in Q1, 15-20% in Q2, and be flat to down slightly in Q3/Q4 depending on the outlook for 2005. Berean expects capital equipment original equipment manufacturers to be strong with much higher margin leverage. However, materials suppliers, wafer suppliers and mask suppliers are projected to be weak with margin upside in the materials suppliers such as ATMI, CCMP, PLAB to be limited.
