Glenn,

Re: I would expect the DNC-DLC oriented Democratic candidates to continue their drum beat about how Dean in unelectable

Glenn you are misrepresenting reality. The DNC and the DLC are distinct and separate. Last week, we had the announcement that Dean had the support of 32% of the DNC that could declare a preference. No other candidate exceeded half of that number, so Dean is clearly the front-runner with the DNC.

The Al From/Clintonista DLC on the other hand is clearly more interested in Lieberman and Clark. But the DLC is, from what I can tell, suffering growing negatives within the party hierarchy. It was the DLC strategy to have the party acquiese to the authorization to go to war just before the 2002 elections. And the way that the DLC strategy backfired in the 2002 elections clearly indicates it is time for a change of leadership in the party.

Even though he endorsed Dean, I would suggest that Al Gore is not currently a card carrying member of the DNC inner circle.

Among the inner circle I would count the Clintons, Al From, Terry McAuliffe....possibly Daschle, Lieberman and Kerry. Can you offer up with other names?
