Lewis is giving you consensus ... sample the stuff on kitco and count bearish/bullish near term

who is so important among gold bears on kitco? i think you have to look at people who have some sort of stature. Russell seems to be in the "close your eyes and buy" camp. i have not heard Fleck say gold stocks are a sale. i have not heard Grant say it. i have not heard Hathaway say it. i have not heard Doody say it...frankly i do not follow anybody else. if all these people were saying to short the miners, then i would agree with you that there is a bearish consensus among people with stature.

if there is a huge number of such gold luminaries that regularly appear on CNBC or write in Barron's or the WSJ and they are all bearish on gold, please let me know who they are. not people posting under pseudonymns on kitco, though.

when it comes to people posting on chatboards, all i have to do is look at SI and i haven't seen anybody say anything bearish on gold besides myself and russ. everyone else seems very bullish. then again, i only follow two or three threads :)
