"disappointed in what little value Apple is gaining from all of that cash?"

Particularly in light that another company could have bought Apple for almost the value of the cash. That means that no other company thought that Apple has an intellectual portfolio worth anything. ZIP. Am I correct?

That's amazing. They have the only consumer ready OS on top of UNIX. They use IBM chips, the same (general) chip designs IBM uses in their servers. And IBM is pushing Linux as a solution to their clients. I don't get it. It would seem to me that IBM would be rabid to push PPC technology and any alternative to Microsoft or Intel or for that matter AMD.

There was a time when SGI and Apple made a heck of a lot of sense also. Then the dumbos at SGI ported over all their software to Intel. Like shooting at your feet to teach yourself how to dance. What were those guys thinking?

The ony explanation for these things is none of the small kings wants to share power.
