I'm in an area not known for booming economies. Not at all. Consider this: Greene County, Missouri (Springfield) has the 17th fastest job growth of all metro areas in the United States over the last 2 years.
Even better, our neighbors down South in Northwest Arkansas (Bentonville, home of WMT, and Fayetteville, home of U of Arkansas), have an unemployment rate of 2.3 percent.
That's right. That's not a typo. It's 2.3 percent. If you're not a drug addict, you're hired, for janitor if nothing else.
Granted, the nation as a whole is not this strong, but construction around here bodes well for a very strong 2004. Bush will be re-elected in a landslide. No hanging chads this time.
