Sidney,

"Democracy is not the best system, second to none. The best system is a constitutional republic which is what this country was founded as."

The constitutional republic of the U.S. was a democracy from the beginning and still is. I'll grant that in the earliest years the right to vote was restricted to white property owners. So, early on about 85% of the population of the country was disenfranchised from the process, but it was a democracy (of a kind). Is this the 'constitutional republic' that was founded that you admire?

Perhaps you can explain to us what you think a democracy is and why you think we are not a constitutional republic.

I'm sitting on the edge of my chair for this one. I'll be especially impressed if you can fit in the Ted Kennedy/Chappaquidick thing into the answer. - lol.

Sidney,

You still haven't gotten back to me about the difference between a "democracy" and a "constitutional republic."

It was a brain-dead remark when you made it. Like Raymond you know absolutely nothing about western democracies. I'll be happy to explain it to you. All you have to do is admit that you don't know the answer and I'll be happy to elucidate it for your.

Will you choose knowledge or ignorant bliss?
