Much of the conflict between arabs and Jews was fueled by the cold war which was more of a fight between US and USSR than between Israel and Aarabs. On more than one occasion USSR offered peace to Israel which would resulted in complete USSR's control of ME and most of the oil supply. Who knows how cold war would turn out if Israel would not remain a loyal friend. Friends can not be bought but we must not punish Israel for sticking up with US....... re: But as far as support for israel, yes there is a lot of support for israel, just not the settlements. offer a way to stop arab terrorism against Israel and settlements would go away....
