American Indians talk about having that same sense of time, without clocks, and more attuned to natural rhythms- they call it "Indian time".

A lot to work through, indeed.

It boils down to the age old question -- is good relative or absolute?

Is there a best system of government for all people, or are there multiple best systems of government? Is freedom necessarily a good thing? Should women and men be equal under every system, or is good for some systems to treat women and men unequally?

Our assumption in this country is that there is one best form of government and social order, and that while we may not have reached perfection (I know of nobody who will argue that), we are in the lead and others should hop on this train.

But sometimes I wonder.
