My basic point is simple: the voting process should have a voter verified paper trail and should be auditable. Otherwise, we are trusting big corporations like Diebold (who will not reveal their source code) that their machines are accurate.

You obviously didn't look through the info on the sites I posted, especially blackbox voting, which has many many examples of currently being used voting devices.

And you are right, there will be lawsuits.

You are incredibly uninformed. Deibold voting machines are being used in elections now and their is no way to audit them. Also they keep three sets of numbers. That's like an accountant keeping three sets of books. Bush himself pushed a 200 million appropriation through congress to get those machines out into service before the 2000 mid-term elections. You must be a government employee.
