Most definitely a maturing experience, my buddies were stunned when I enlisted in '77 and thought it would be fun to shave my head. To their credit, they did not nick me once. The night before I was to fly to San Diego training depot, I peeled out of a bar parking lot and a cop arrested me for intoxication. The next morning, I talked to the DA who said he had talked to my recruiter. He told me, I better get my butt on the plane for basic training and cut me loose. At San Diego in the haircut line, the barber just motioned me along. I had come as the only bald recruit. <g>

Stan, Regardless of you assignment, you did your job, which was an asset to the military as a whole. Some go to combat, and others provide the intelligence that is a vital contribution to the success of any mission. It takes all of the assignments in the military to make that, well oiled, machine function, and be the best in the whole wide world.
