We'll be out of Iraq in a year or two. The Iraqis will have their own government, hopefully a democratic one, but that'll be up to them.

This is not the definition of "imperialism" which implies a permanent presence intended to subjugate or control a people.

I'm not surprised that you think the American people aren't wise. We don't think much of you either.
