Oops.. almost forgot about that of Iraqi troops on the Kuwaiti border back in, what was it, 1994? Forced the US to make a rapid reinforcement of the region in response to that "non-indicated threat" you were referring to.. And trying to pin Saddam's aggression against Kuwait on April Glaspie is ridiculous and YOU KNOW IT. That's tantamount to exonerating the rapist because he argues that, since she didn't say no, she must have "wanted it".. Utterly preposterous.. and the lowest form of intellectual dishonesty.the great harm that was done here was not in the invasion and occupation alone, but in how it was done, in who participated in decision making, and in who dictated that their orders alone were sufficient The great harm was done when 3 major nations decided to put their own economic self-interest in supporting a despotic regime before enforcing the binding resolutions they voted for in the UNSC. Again.. your argument is like blaming someone for conducting a citizen's arrest because the local police department was unwilling to uphold the law. And the last time I checked, we still have that right, if not responsibility, to act when law refuses to do so.Speer says in his Inside biography much of the same, that while Germany had massive capacity it still hadn't been brought up to full wartime footing by the late 30s, and to an extent never was until it had been degraded substantially by allied bombing Actually, the last part is false.. Nazi Germany was actually producting more armaments in 1944-45 than at any time prior in the war.. They just ran out of fuel, raw materials, and manpower, as well as being outproduced by the Allies (the US). The US bombing campaign was relatively ineffective against Germany industry. But it was highly effective against transportation and refineries. Agree with the rest of your comments, though.. Hawk
