When the afl-cio goes on Capital Report and debates a free trade sponsor I find myself feeling very sympathetic with the unions. The unions are very angry about a proposal to cut overtime, that seems to be their #1 issue.>> My argument with AFL-CIO is relative to their support of general amnesty for current flood of illegals. That's rewarding those who ignored our laws. AFL-CIO is merely looking at illegals as potential new union membership instead of placing general good of USA as 1st priority. Beyond that particular issue, for 1st time in my life, I'm ready to support & even join a union in order to fight for retention of American jobs. Today's workers are descendants of those who built the country with sweat & tears--now greedy corps are selling them out for 3rd world slave wages. <<I think the objections to Iraq out here mostly stem from lack of planning and lack of care wrt this weapons issue. When the president accuses someone of having weapons and goes against the whole world to prove his point, people want there to be weapons there. I think everyone supports the military in its entirety but Bush is mighty stingy with the raises for those guys.>> WMD not much of an issue on East Coast. Possibly because NYC is nearby &, in fact, many along coast lost a relative or friend on 9/11, therefore we realized the fight had to be relocated. We, in effect, killed 2birds with 1stone.... neutralized a ruthless barbarian, while offshoring war on terror to their soil instead of our own. Dean definitely has a chance with former GWB 2000 voters who are disenchanted with injustices of free trade on American workers. Although, I'm not sure a Democrat would make any difference on that score, since Pres Clinton started the fiasco with NAFTO.
