Point is those jobs (i.e. engineering, IT, financial services) and the currency used in exchange for services(no actual product)....never existed...

These workers were patsies,pawns, stoogies, tools for the 'Clinton Era' wholesale frauds and excesses.

Bogus Equipment orders {lucent),

Excessive capital IT expenditures never too be paid....KLEC's
enron,
wcom,
bogus kalifornia electricitity shortages
stockmarket bubble
bad hair days
overdone pizza

the list goes on.........

Lizzie has a good point. Underemployment is a more important issue than unemployment. Many people are only marginally attached to the work force.

jobless claims are actually meaningless now because the white collar jobs have been gone for 2 years and the people displaced in those high paying positions, for the most part, cannot find the same level of work as before and have taken low paying service jobs.,

Well, at least you admit the jobs were gone before President Bush took office. Have faith, President Bush may change the trend president Clinton established. In spite of all the negative geopolitical elements.
