Lou Dobbs is doing a wonderful job. I like his approach and presentation of these issues so much.

The best thing is, Dobbs is able to present what losing these jobs does for the US economy and the prosperity of our companies. That is an important argument to make, even the most fervent capitalists have to accept the fact that this globalization has actually resulted in a *loss of market* for companies that sell US goods.

We have lost the PC upgrade cycle in the US. For the longest time economists were waiting for capex to return. Guess what, it went to india when we offshored IT across the board. Doesn't take an einstein to see the snowball effect here. And there are almost NO winners, even the companies who participate in the offshoring.

I actually think companies like Oracle corp misgauged the reaction to their own offshoring plans which were implemented 5+ years ago. Oracle thought they could be the Nike of software, use offshore cheap labor and still sell at high prices IN THE US. They missed the actual result which was that all their customers moved operations to India also. Now oracle license revenue is based on indian Rupees. Too late to backtrack, the cat is out of the bag. But if they had to do it again.... I doubt they would.
