More than 90% of the Turkish public were opposed (islamists as well as non-islamists), most of them vehemently. I think that figure leans waaay to far the other way. But nobody was polling the Turks that I would believe, anyway. I was thinking today about the "love us/hate us" arguments we hear. A waste of time, really. We are in a long term war with these "Islamists." The rest of the Muslim world isn't going to like it, and that just goes with the territory. The Government's job is to make the world safe for us. It is going to take a lot more force before this is over. So the left might as well get used to it.
