It is all a matter of the assumptions one holds. I think that we are at worst viewed as a necessary evil, at best as liberators, by most of the population, considering the brutality of the regime and the fact that the overwhelming majority of Iraqis, Shi'ite and Kurd, were disfavored by the regime. This seems to me to confirmed both anecdotally and in such things as the comprehensive poll taken by Oxford University. I think that as long as there is steady progress, we do not have to fear major restiveness among Iraqis. Improvement in security is on the right path........
