Huey,

It won't make your situation any easier, but at least it is an indication that all is not hopeless - I am using IE6 with AOL 9.0 Optimized and DSL and have never had a problem getting to or reading SI (because of the browser that is). I almost never use the AOL browser or any of the other AOL functions and cannot ever recall seeing "IE6 provided by AOL."

On the other hand, I never could get AOL 9.0 to run with my firewall more than once - it crashed my computer every time after the first - but then that's a whole different problem. I am certainly no fan of AOL, but for the time being it is a necessary evil. LOL

Good luck finding a solution....

Bill

I'm afraid I really can't be any help at all on this one. If the problem is in some javascript on this end, I'm already over my head. And as a programmer, I'm a poor support person. I can't intelligently address a problem unless I can personally observe it happening. And I wouldn't let anything AOL-related within a mile of any of my machines.

The only suggestions I can make would be to check out the Computer Learning thread here, or back of to IE 5.5 and see if the problem persists with 6.0 once I get the new interface done, which will use very little, if any, javascript. In the past, a lot of problems have been caused by browsers either not fully supporting or being suitably forgiving of programming errors in javascript. And such errors do exist here, as I frequently get the little javascript error icon in the lower left corner of my screen.

Define what you mean by being "knocked off SI and IE" -- do you get an error message of some sort or does the entire browser just close without saying good-bye?
