Phillips seems to be leaning ever more nobly with each successive book. His own writing must be scaring him into a more urgent quest. I see that the Barnes site calls him a "former" Republican, now independent. It's encouraging to observe exposure to knowledge resulting in wisdom <g>

Phillips vs. Franken .......... People can dismiss Al Franken as a disgruntled Saturday Night Live sort, but Kevin Phillips is a political intellectual of the highest order and a "former Republican." I read part of Phillips' last book, Wealth and Democracy. Not bad. He's getting a handle on the roots of the serious class warfare pending out there. Hell, 25% of the populace is without health insurance now. I just may have to read his upcoming book. BushCo makes me puke. One Democratic voter refuses to bite the dust. Happy New Year.
