Get a longer warranty or a different manufacturer. Not much help, huh? I have no ideas.

I know this is silly, but the first time I used one I didn't realize there are buttons on both the mouse and the transmitter. You have to put them close together and press one after the other (I think the transmitter first).

The other thing is that the instructions say that you should keep the transmitter a few feet away from any electronics. I put mine on a table near the computer but away from the monitor and cpu and printer.

Also check the connection if it is a PS2. Logitech has a crummy connector that falls out often.

pezz... had a similar problem a couple of months back when the batteries died in my Logitech cordless keyboard. I expected that simply replacing the batteries and pressing the various sender/receiver buttons would do the trick...but noooo..I did a little digging around in the Logitech support pages and came up with this...it worked for me. Unfortunately I can't find the specific web page...but what it amounted to was: after you install the new batteries, press the sync button on the keyboard and hold it in for approximately 60 seconds (10 seconds as stated below might work for you?)...release and then sync it with the sender unit. If you haven't tried it yet, it just might work?

If both of your units were in the same general area, this might help...

Q: When I move my cordless mouse the user next cannot move the cursor on their system until I stop moving my mouse. What should I do?
A: This is called "Jamming" and occurs when one cordless device is in use and causes another cordless device to stop functioning until the first device stops moving. Try moving the receiver closer to emitter (mouse/keyboard) being jammed and further away from emitter causing the jamming. You may also want to experiment with different receiver positions, as discussed in the questions above. To avoid possible interference, try to keep the distance between systems at least 10 feet. Also, moving the mouse closer or further away to the receiver can also improve transmission and performance. If the above fails, try pressing and holding the "Connect" button on the receiver for 10 seconds. This will reset the receiver's connection information and allow you to do a first time connection with the receiver and mouse or keyboard. After holding the Connect button for 10 seconds, then press the Connect/Channel button on the bottom of the mouse to synchronize it with the receiver. If you have a cordless keyboard instead of, or in addition to, a cordless mouse, press the "Connect" button of the receiver again, then press the "Connect/Channel" button on the Keyboard. Perform these same steps on any other Logitech cordless devices in the area that are experiencing jamming.

I imagine a few Logitech wireless keyboards may have been prematurely put out to pasture by frustrated users?
