I had a buddy that was a Navy corpsmen. On base a fight got out of hand and a Marine was shot in the brawl. My buddy preformed an emergency tracheotomy on him. He caught hell from his superiors who told him he wasn't a damn doctor, but the Marine thanked him for saving his life.
