so your turning bullish now? they've had program trading forever, although it has become more prominent and perhaps more sophisticated in the last decade for moving markets as opposed to index arbitrage alone. I watch the indexes during the day in 5 min and it is so obvious when programs kick in, usually at key support levels or when indicators are about to cross down. Just prolonging the inevitable and likely to cause a more severe result. Volumes have been weak for months now, we'll if if they start to pick up next week because IMO volume has not confirmed this market move. Here is an informative website. indexarb.com
