Chris, I hit the edit window and added your suggestions as well as this one: * Pearl Harbor: The Japanese fleet was tracked, but the Commander of the Fleet in Hawaii was kept out of the information loop, creating an incident that would stir the emotions of the American people, instead of having our fleet engaged in an ambiguous pre-war battle.

You left off some big lie gov manipulations of public opinion: The Battleship Maine: used to start the Spanish-American war. Blamed on Spain, actually an accident. Does this mean everything the government does is corrupt or manipulating? As opposed to the articles you mentioned, we have been seriously attacked by terrorists. Not just us, byt much of the world. You surely don't deny this...do you? Would you prefer the government do nothing as you don't trust them? That was the call after 9/11. Why weren't we protected. Why didn't WE receive warnings. Now as they dispatch warnings, people complain that they warn. What way would you have it? The Gulf of Tonkin Incident : A deliberate fabrication by Lyndon Johnson to kick off the war in Vietnam Given history, it's actually more sensible to believe your government is lying to you. How many times has history proved that the government HAS lied to us? And these are just the lies we KNOW of - how many lies remain buried, classified beyond scrutiny?
