Ralph, it you who are mistaken. An American Pit Bull Terrier has the pedigree, history and actual match victories over the Shar-pei. Pit Bulls are generally very friendly to humans (although any animal can be made to be mean), but death to other animals. A Shar-pei victory over a Pit Bull would be a rare event, easily rectified by the next opponent.

i have read some on the Pit Bull. Different individuals have different fighting styles (as does the Shar-pei i'm sure). If the Shar-pei were really a better fighting dog, he would have been adopted over here (USA). he hasn't.
