re: various

RE: new sony camera with CF slot
my new FUJI camera (finepix S7000Z) has both an XD slot and a CF slot
hadn't it had the CF slot i wouldn't have bought it...
(i own several CF cards and after having to buy SD for the Kyocera i didn't want a third Flash card format (XD))

that's the reason.

RE: Gartner predicting 20% price decrease for flash

20% decrease per year is a *very little* decrease. So the year must be good for manufacturers (their cost drops faster than 20%)
and, BTW do they speak nand, NOR or both?

B.

Also, why not offer an SD slot instead of CompactFlash?

Charlie,

Sony will never give in. Hopefully SNDK can profit from Memory Stick.

The reason SD is chosen over CF in the new Sony is that it is a high end
camera and many high end users are acquainted with CF and IBM microdrive.
I don't see SD displacing CF on the high end for some time.
