Hawk, raising the WTC with the Pearl Harbor issue is mixing apples and oranges. The 19 terrorists were individuals who did not represent the Govt. of SA or in the case of Pearl Harbor the Govt. of Japan.

Secondly, American law which is very civilized does not advocate punitive treatment to other family members for the criminal actions of a single family member. Just because those 19 misguided folks were from SA or that they were Muslims does not give the right for propagandists to run down the general SA citizens or followers of the Islamic faith. If we as Americans start doing that then we are no better than the PLO, the Israelis and Saddam because that is what they do.

And only by the grace of God, and some dedicated public safety and security personnel, was the casualty count kept to 3,000.


I won't forget the Wall Street Journal edition of Sept 12, 2001, whose headline read, "10,000 Feared Dead".

How they got that paper out is a wonder. Their offices were destroyed in the attack.
