The 2003 Military Times Poll reveals a military more conservative, more Republican

Prior to Clinton, old polls showed the military to be 5:1 or better demo.

Clinton's don't ask and don't tell, coupled with his personal moral turpitude and lack of integrity affected the US Military tremendously. Soldiers and officers would certainly be relieved from command duty and probably court-martialed for similar offenses and they knew it.

The continued support of Clinton, in the face of these personal failures, by the majority of Democratic politicians caused the military to change parties. According to that article only 7% of soldiers now consider themselves to be liberals.

Prior to Clinton only 10% or less of soldiers voted, now I understand it is closer to 50% and rising.

It is certainly interesting, to say the least, to see how the military is no longer a microcosm of American society.
Reinstating the draft will change that again.
