And what dogmatic view of history might I have? Once again, references, not "inferences", please.

'I wasn't making any point about a dogmatic view on history'

Here's your post, John - #reply-19667422

'... Europe did nothing to spread democracy ...
... American influence freed the east ...
'

That'll be risible expression of dogmatic arrogance to at least ninety-five per cent of our species, John ... this whole idea of everything Good in this world being not only of US provenance but entirely of US origin and design, this is precisely why your neocons will have less allies among the Rest of Us, the louder they pretend this .... even leaving aside the overweening arrogance of appropriating the name of two continents with thirty-some-odd nations to denote a single nation therein - the roots of human development go way way back, and it has healthy branches way off to the sides, you may not notice them but others do, we also note the rot of hypocrisy in the Washington you would likely call the 'trunk' ..... man, the hubris gets thick around here sometimes ..... Win can get way over the top, sure, but it looks like he's only chasing you there this time -g-

JCS 1067 - that's the part of the Morgenthau Plan that led to the rule against 'fraternisation with the enemy' for allied personnel, i knew an ex-RN scot sailor for whom that made considerable trouble, when he met his young austrian wife-to-be .... in the pub here they would tell stories, somehow arrogant officials were never the heroes

Jochen, carranza, Hawk, others - i'm way behind on replies here, sorry, too occupied over the holidays ..... happy new year all, let's hope the species does better at foreign affairs than it did last year
