>>If you come by any evidence of Lenin's statements, particularly if they are indicative of anything more than an empty PR pronouncement, <<

Do not see much of English version, except this brief mentioning:
"Early, the Bolzhevik government, claiming to be anti-imperialistic, had renounced all extraterritorial rights in China;"
zum.de

Lenin said in his Declaration toward China in 1919, and on Sep.27, 1920, USSR formally declared in a manifesto to nullify all the unequal treaties bet. Russian Czar and China, and agreed on that gave Mongolia back to China. 1924, USSR back tracked on Mongolia matter, but still claimed nullify all the unequal treaties with China.

This was Not "an empty PR pronouncement", it was an official manifesto. If Lenin lived longer, he should be able to keep his words, and the USSR gov. promise.

As for Taiwan, I have said so many times already, it is China's domestic affair, and NO one, including the US, has the right to interfere. China will keep its word and its territory intact at any cost.

It is not really relevant how many people in Taiwan want independence. Even if 100% of them want, comparing with 1.3 billion Mainlanders, 20 million are still absolute minority.

I can only hope Chen is not sending himself to a road of no return, and the US remembers Vietnam and Korean lessons.
