I travel through Texas A LOT on my way to offroading trails in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado and sometimes Calif. Almost EVERY Texan I meet loves it there. I have never figured out exactly WHY. Too damn hot in the south and too damn flat in the North. What is it that you Texans find so fascinating with the state? jdn

Houston is the farthest North I've ever lived. I'm from New Orleans and when we came to Houston, my ears popped from the change in altitude.<g>
