I did some reading and research on this issue after you posted this on the thread. It seems that even during his tenure, he had access to considerable intelligence on Saddam and WMD. He made many public comments and even threatened to invade Iraq to destroy those weapons. And since he is a ex-President, he knows the challenges. That is why he has come to the aid of Bush.

But they didn't exist right?..

So Clinton was acting militarily (bombing Iraq nearly everyday for 6 years) based upon information that no one could refute.. Namely, that Iraq still possessed WMDs..

And as I recall, Clinton received CONSIDERABLE flack over "Operation Desert Fox", which he launched in the midst of his impeachment trial..

And what about those missiles he launched, without UN authorization, against that "aspirin factory" in Khartoum?

The bottom line is that Bush acted upon the SAME INFORMATION that guided Clinton's handling of Iraq.

Information so compelling that neither France, or Russia, were able to refute it publicly, and were forced to agree to Iraq's material breach.

And even though France and Russia agreed and voted via UNSC 1441 that Iraq was in material breach, they STILL attempted to subvert enforcement of that resolution after the 90 day deadline passed..

Clinton believed Iraq had WMDs unaccounted for. So did UNSCOM and UNMOVIC. And even when that 6 page document was finally turned over in November, 2002, Iraq did NOTHING to account for those 6,000 missing warheads.

Nothing... So they are still missing and unaccounted for, Chinu. And so long as they remain unaccounted for, you'll never have sufficient evidence to claim that Bush acted irresponsibly.

He was acting on the best information he had at the time, just like Clinton did.

So knock off the BS propaganda... Those are the facts.
