All, an interesting post regarding 1GB SD cards is available at pcworld.com Those of you who made fun of KODAK is earlier times may wish to note that Fuji Film is introducing a 1GB SD card (Fuji was the #1 reason why KODAK stock tanked during the past several years and Fuji's virtually unlimited persistence could materially affect SNDK's profit margins).

Recent news in the world of alternative storage: A few days ago, Anandtech.com reported the availablility of 2+GB microdrives. And, Sony recently announced a higher-capacity digital video-cams using super-mini-DVDs.

Hi Craig,
Good grief, I don't care about market share of wafer makers! It is irrelevant. Why is everybody so obsessed with market share of the chip makers??? SNDK does not sell wafers, it sells Flash Memory Cards!

Other companies that sell flash memory CARDS are:
Lexar
Toshiba
Simpletech
Panasonic
Kingston
Delkin
Kodak
PQI Corp
Verbatim
Memorex
Smart Modular
PNY Viking
Edge Memory

Does ANYBODY have ANY idea what the approximate market share of flash memory CARD, CARD, CARD sales of the top 4 or 5 of these companies?

Which companies do not actually manufacture the cards they sell?

Does Samsung sell Flash Memory Cards in addition to the chips? I can't find them.

Steve
