Your son actually agrees with Spengler --- if one keeps re-inventing culture every day then it is just like having values which one changes every day --- one hasn't any.

These days, everything is trivialized and disposable including values, honour, dignity, manners, respect, education, honesty, thrift, work, knowledge, wisdom etc. Today everything is about a buck and the quickest means to it. Those of us who see life differently are fuddy-duddies and quaint old fogies as far as the new and "with-it" people are concerned.
