I don't care about the former much, except insofar as they constitute practical obstacles. as for the latter category, come on, don't be disingenuous. anybody who has ever said anything good about Laurie Mylroie or blurbed a book of hers, just to take an obvious example, has a major credibility problem--as does the whole INC-lovers crowd...

As for the second category, who is actually in it? I don't know anyone in the Administration who said this, and many, like Cheney and Perle, have said there is no evidence.

The Administration demonstrated mastery of propaganda and manipulation in persuading two-thirds of Americans that Saddam was behind 9/11, without actually saying it.

When Bush talked about invading Iraq, he would invariably bring up 9/11. Joe Six-pack, who was on his fourth after a hard day at the steel mill, just naturally made the assumption. Most people don't follow foreign affairs with the intensity of our posters here.
