I, too, was impressed with the quality of workers. People of that caliber would be professionals here. I was reminded of the demise of secretaries in this country. When I was an undergrad back in the days when women were either teachers or nurses or secretaries, I minored in secretarial training to have something to fall back on in case I ever needed to work. LOL. That seems so quaint now. Anyway, there were a lot of sharp and educated women who were secretaries because their options were limited. Once the limits came off you were lucky if you could hire a secretary who could spell. I hope those young people we saw on 60 minutes get an opportunity to do some more challenging and rewarding work at some point. They're clearly overqualified for what they're doing although obviously grateful for the work.My main question on the ex Treasury Secretary is "Why did they hire the jerk?" For some reason I cannot explain, perhaps the frigid temperature outside, I rolled over in bed this morning and clicked on the TV. I surfed up to CNN, which was doing a segment on the caucuses. CNN had clips of each of the frontrunners, one point per, and then reported Dean's reaction to the speechifying questioner, what he said, that he was angry, that the crowd supported him. Then I clicked up one channel to Fox. Fox was already into its report on the 60 Minutes interview. On the screen was a big banner that read "O'Neil Squeals" followed by another--can't remember the exact words--something along the lines of "traitor to the WH." The report focused on O'Neil's motivations. Fox followed that with a report on the caucuses, which was entirely about the Dean reaction to that one guy. They showed the whole thing and characterized Dean as having lost it, as this being the worst of a good five hundred or so such outbursts, and on and on. Can't recall the banner. Something quite uncomplimentary. Anyway, I was quickly reminded why I don't watch the news on TV anymore. Turned it off. Turned on the computer.
