Even the "NY Times" holds it nose on his new book, so it must really be a lefty rant.

You think so? I did notice you posted your views on Le Carre a few months ago and you didn't sound impressed.

He looks to me to be the "Anti Blair". He has the outlook that will condense the view of a great proportion of the UK's attitude towards the USA and (more particular) Iraq imo. Maybe that's what worries the political dept at the NYT.

Tony Blair used to say "education!, education!!, education!!! Now he is trying to destroy one of the remaining strong assets the UK has. It's higher education system.

The Iraq war went well. It's just no one had a clue (never mind a plan) how to look after the civilian population once it was over. It looks like GWB et al just don't care. No need to ship a few electrical generators to Iraq to get the power back on. Now we have the disbanded Iraqi armed forces protesting for work. The new PNAC empire builders have modern jet aircraft transports yet they couldn't ship out an electrical generator in six months and more. What a shambles, and no way to build an empire for sure.

If GWB's UK domino (Blair) goes, there is precious little support for him elsewhere as I see it. GWB seems to have some critics at home too. Many of them don't have jobs.
