Right you were! LV 2000 reserve, $13.58/per bottle, case price.
I like it, just enough bite to get one's attention.
If my taste memory is working, more refined than the LP.
Will try to contrast with the Lapostolle soon.

C., I prefer the Los Vascos.
Perhaps another year of aging might smooth out the Lapostolle 2001.
The 2000 Reserve Los Vascos is smoother, more refined, and less astringent, however, it is perhaps less complex (?thin in comparison?), and not as 'hearty'. Both leave a nice taste.
All things considered, I prefer it. Others might feel differently.
Both are a good buy for their respective prices.
Will have to find the 2001, which you rec'd in the first place.
